Fire Staff Tutorial | Beginners ~ 2.8 ~ Weave & Propeller Transitions

This staff spinning lesson is critical in understanding the connection between a forwards and backwards weave using the two propeller grips (palm up and palm away). This is a foundation fire dancing move and can be done in Clockwise connecting a R forwards with a L backwards and also in counter clockwise connecting a L forwards with a R backwards.

This staff spinning lesson we show the backwards weave also known as the figure 8. The backwards weave is usually not near as comfortable as the forwards but it is just as important. Backwards weave can be done in with either left hand in a clockwise spin or right hand in a counter-clockwise spin.

This staff spinning lesson we show the forwards weave also known as the figure 8. The weave connects the front wall and back wall of our spinning using just 1 hand. Forwards weave can be done in with either right hand in a clockwise spin or left hand in a counter-clockwise spin.

This fire dance tutorial teaches you how to connect a clockwise and a counter-clockwise propeller using simple stalls on each side of the body with your staff. This move also teaches you the importance of the palm up grip in a propeller and how to get comfortable starting moves with the palm up.

This fire dance lesson takes you through the counter-clockwise rotation of propeller or rotor. It is extremely important to get your opposite side down so that you can connect clockwise and counter by turning the body 180 degrees. This will increase your Flow ;)

 This tutorial shows you the foundation move of all fire staff spinning. The propeller is done on the wall plane in front of your body and is used in fire dancing any time you transfer from right hand to left hand. That makes this move extremely important to get into your muscle memory

The easiest way to learn on video tutorials is to mirror the video. That means when the instructors left hand is forward he will refer to it as his right so you can easily follow along with it.
