This staff spinning lesson is critical in understanding the connection between a forwards and backwards weave using the two propeller grips (palm up and palm away). This is a foundation fire dancing move and can be done in Clockwise connecting a R forwards with a L backwards and also in counter clockwise connecting a L forwards with a R backwards.

This staff spinning lesson we show the backwards weave also known as the figure 8. The backwards weave is usually not near as comfortable as the forwards but it is just as important. Backwards weave can be done in with either left hand in a clockwise spin or right hand in a counter-clockwise spin.
